Artificial intelligence was once just a buzzword, but today its impact on our daily lives is far greater than ever before. Whether we are reading our emails or surfing Netflix, artificial intelligence makes decisions to improve our user experience based on our preferences, our trends and our behavior.

Artificial intelligence has been known to help streamline processes, make quick decisions and save significant time. People in the 21st century have long had better things to do than wash dishes or wash kitchen curtains. How much time does an average city dweller spend on cleaning his or her apartment, provided the clothes are washed by a washing machine, the dishwasher does the dishes and the robot vacuum cleaner knows every square meter of the apartment?

The modern Internet already connects millions of devices, among which not only computers and smartphones, but also any gadget. What is happening is the so-called “Internet of Things” — the concept of combining any device with the Internet and with each other. Today, for example, there are already many thermostats that allow you to adjust the temperature in your apartment via your smartphone, even if no one is home.

And it is not limited to the apartment — there are entire cities where the Internet of Things is part of everyday life. For example, Barcelona is a famous example of Smart City. But what is particularly important, according to some experts, is that the full potential of the Internet of Things can only be revealed if it is fully combined with the capabilities of artificial intelligence, which can process large amounts of data. Facial recognition and facial analysis technology by street cameras is one example of such a combination.
